Description

NHDC is an artificial sweetener derived from the bitter orange. Like stevia and monkfruit extracts, NHDC is a highly sweet glycoside with a slower sweetness onset that of sucrose. It is used synergistically with high-intensity sweeteners to mask aftertaste and increase sweetness. Its stability at high temperatures allow NHDC to be used in baking application where aspartame would be unsuitable. At lower, concentrations, NHDC is an effective flavor enhancer that improves mouth feel.
